Gun Sense is Common Sense
I’m very excited to share some big news with you today — my campaign has just been awarded the 2020 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction.
Moms Demand Action is the largest grassroots volunteer network fighting to combat gunviolence in America, and it’s such an honor to have their support. Moms Demand Action is part of Everytown for Gun Safety which has also officially endorsed my campaign. Having this distinction award from Moms Demand and the endorsement from Everytown shows that these major gun safety alliances trust me as a fierce ally who will stand up to the NRA and lobby for common-sense gun reform.
Let me be clear: This fight isn’t about gun confiscation, nor is it my intention to revoke the 2nd Amendment. This fight is about preventing gun violence and promoting gun safety and responsible gun ownership.
With the support of Moms Demand Action, I will continue to champion common-sense gun safety legislation that will keep guns out of the hands of those who shouldn’t have them, restrict the unnecessary possession of military-style assault weapons, and fund critical research on gun violence prevention.
